OSV Group successfully delivered the civil and landscape scope for the Wesley College Early Works project, with a strong emphasis on complex trenching and service coordination for electrical and communications infrastructure.
A critical component of the project was the construction of multiple trench types (A–G and local runs) to accommodate power and data services across the site. These trenches required:

Excavations using 6t machinery, tailored to varying depths and alignments.

Electrical and communication conduits installed to precise lengths per trench type.

Use of stainless steel, heel-proof drop-in trench grates in key service corridors for long-term durability and aesthetics.

Concrete encasement (25 MPa) for select trenches, primarily Type A, to ensure protection of critical infrastructure.

Backfill material comprising 30% bedding sand and 70% Class 3 crushed rock, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and compaction requirements.

Ancillary items including spigots, bushes, conduit fittings, and 500ml glue for all connections.
Each trench type was designed to suit a specific service function and load condition, requiring precise planning and sequencing in a live school environment. OSV managed the integration of multiple trades, including electrical and data contractors, and ensured consistent trench profiles, separation, and backfill standards throughout the site.
Beyond trenching, civil works included the construction of a full-size basketball court with reinforced slabs and edge beams, extensive paving (concrete, bluestone, and asphalt), and concrete structures including walls and ramps. Landscape works comprised advanced tree planting, turf, irrigation, and garden bed establishment, creating a cohesive and functional outdoor environment.
This project highlights OSV Group’s ability to deliver technically complex trenching and service works alongside premium hard and soft landscaping outcomes in high-profile educational settings.
